What happens in a Rosen session?
A consultation usually lasts for about an hour, 50 minutes of which is the session itself.
You will be asked to undress to your underwear or whatever you feel comfortable with and to lie down on a massage table where you will be covered by a light blanket.
Contact is gently made through the blanket giving both the practitioner and yourself some time to relax into the session and to start to become aware of areas of holding and tension.
After a while the blanket is drawn down to the waist and the practitioner works more directly on the areas she feels drawn to, sometimes verbalising the changes that she sees enabling you to go deeper into the process.
As the session draws to a close, you will be covered with the blanket again and encouraged to rest for a while before getting up and dressed.
“Sometimes a transformation takes place in one session, and at other times it takes years, slowly, bit by bit, opening a little at a time. Many of the people that are students or clients do this work for their own growth and some come with pain or are stuck in their lives. They are searching for something new, not knowing what that is. It doesn’t really matter what their goals are because we don’t treat them according to their goals. We treat them as people who are not in touch with their full potential. They have hidden their “jewel”, and often they find it again through this work. This is what we call their truth, their being, their self - everything that enables them to live a life full of possibilities.”

"I found out about the Rosen Method when attending an Open Day at Hawkwood College. I'd been having problems with my back, neck and shoulders for over a year and had tried many things to help.
I was drawn to Rosen Method as it looks at the emotions and how these can manifest in the body and wondered whether this was the cause of my problems. Rosen Method is a more peaceful form of massage and I find Debbie to be both very gentle and insightful. I've learnt so much about myself through working with her and really appreciate her non-judgemental, quiet approach to the work.
I find sessions to be a break from the world, a chance to focus on myself and find a different way to approach my emotional and physical wellbeing.
If you wish to try this method, I highly recommend Debbie as the person to help you understand and guide you through Rosen Method Bodywork."
