What is Rosen Method?

"It seems to me, that the strength of the Rosen Method lies in its gentleness and Debbie is gentleness personified. This is apparent in her whole approach, her very gentle listening touch and her insightful questions and feedback. I can recommend her most highly for anyone who wishes to explore attitudes and ways of responding which are no longer helpful and to release from the body redundant tensions."
Dr BW Cheltenham
As we go through life, we experience many different feelings and responses to what’s going on around us. We may sense from our environment , especially early on, that our spontaneous expression is not acceptable.

For example:      We are too noisy, too much.

We are in the way, we are not enough, we are not wanted

We may feel it’s  “safer” not to be seen or heard so we learn to hide

                            WE PUT OURSELVES AWAY
Picture
Our bodies learn to hold down, back or in through muscular tension which over time becomes a physical habit or automatic response. This is reflected in how we hold ourselves, our posture, our gestures, and in turn, is reflected in how we are in life.

By using gentle “listening” touch and respectful dialogue, Rosen Method Bodywork helps us to reconnect to these parts of ourselves allowing what has been unconscious to become conscious. During a session, we might become aware of physical sensations, images or memories which can offer helpful insight and allow us the possibility to create new choices in our lives.

With awareness the muscles can relax and let go, and breath can fill the body.
We can become softer and more open,
Our lives can become a true reflection of who we are.
